The aim of this case study is to forecast Autumn stormy weather in the Adriatic Sea in late October 2018 with focus on the area of Venice. The purpose of this interactive exercise is to use and discuss a wide range of ECMWF products. These includes:
Model climatology (proxy of the real climate)
Seasonal forecasts (anomalies, verification)
Extended forecasts (anomalies, verification)
Medium-range forecasts (Ensemble mean and spread, cyclonic features, clusters, EFI and SOT)
Weather parameters (precipitation type, point rainfall, wind gusts and waves)
