What is an Octahedral Reduced Gaussian Grid - ecCodes GRIB FAQ

In ecCodes the key isOctahedral has been defined for GRIB messages which have a Gaussian grid: if the grid is octahedral, the value of the key is 1, otherwise it is 0.
