The aim of this case study is to forecast Autumn stormy predict weather conditions in the Adriatic Sea Venice area ahead of a school trip in late October 2018 with focus on the area of Venice. The purpose of this interactive exercise is to use and discuss a wide range of ECMWF products. These includes:
Model climatology (proxy of the real climate)
Seasonal forecasts (anomalies, verification)
...
Weather parameters (precipitation type, point rainfall, wind gusts and waves)
As the case study progresses you will be asked to provide an update of the forecast based on the recent model outputs. Typically : 3 months before, 1 month before, 2 weeks, 7 days, 3 days, 3, 2 and 1 day before
